How do I create a GiftLode?

Creating a GiftLode takes less than 2 minutes. Just enter the recipient's name, choose the occasion, set an optional target amount, and pick a delivery date. You'll get a unique link to share with friends who want to contribute.

Do I need to create an account?

No! You can create a GiftLode and invite contributors without anyone needing to sign up. We just ask for an email so we can send you updates and the recipient their gift.

What's the minimum contribution amount?

The minimum contribution is £5. There's no maximum - contributors can give as much as they like!

We accept all major credit and debit cards through Stripe, as well as Apple Pay and Google Pay where available.

How does the recipient get their gift card?

The gift card code is revealed as part of the celebration experience. They can copy the code directly or we can email it to them. The organizer can also download a backup.

What does the recipient see?

The recipient gets a link that opens a full-screen celebration experience. There's a confetti animation, then they swipe through each contributor's personal message. Finally, the total amount and gift card are revealed in a grand finale.

How much does GiftLode cost?

There are no setup or platform surprises. Each contribution creates two gifts: 95% goes directly to the recipient's gift card, and 5% is used to build a personalised video keepsake. We also receive a small commission from the gift card providers we partner with — this comes from the provider, not from you.

Are payments secure?

All payments are processed through Stripe, one of the world's most trusted payment processors. We never see or store card details. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
